Today as I was cooking a delicious turkey meal as that handmaid Ofpedro began talking to me. It seems she grows bored since she doesn't do much for the family. She was asking me questions about my cooking, how to prepare the turkey, the seasonings i was using, etc. I don't know Ofpedro very well but she seems like a nice girl. She never asked me anything about my personal life as other handmaids have done before but she seemed curious to learn about cooking. She even helped me make the filling which turned out wonderfully by the way. I don't have anything against the handmaids personally but I am quite jealous of the amount of sex they get to have. Although it may be quick, meaningless sex, it's still something and that's more than I will ever receive. I do wish to have a child one day, but of course I can't since I am infertile. This doesn't give me a different view of the handmaids because they don't even get to keep the babies. I respect them as I hope to also be respected.

I am glad you respect the handmaids. I understand it is so difficult for you to tolerate them and not feel jealous. Listen, there are much better things to do than have a baby, and trust me, it doesn't seem like something anyone would want..
ReplyDeleteHonestly, as a Martha, you should definitely not socialize too much with the Handmaids. You run a risk by giving them too much information. The fact that the Handmaid was inquiring about cooking, a subject they should not be interested in, and much less touch upon, is suspicious enough. You should have reported her, but I will admit that I sympathize with you the envy you can give them.
